My summer internship at the
NSA

I had a really great summer this year, you guys. When I first started at
Fletcher I had planned to work at a think tank, or a humanitarian NGO. But when
Dan Blank, a recruiter from the National Security Agency, came to Fletcher
looking for highly qualified US citizens with no history of drug use or
outstanding debt interested in protecting the security of the United States by
methods such as
and less controversially
, I couldn’t possibly say no! It turned out to be the best decision I
could have made—when I first got there, I thought “cryptography” was a type of
disease old people get on their feet, but I learned so much about
,
, and especially
!!!!! And it was such a sweet gig – all day, we would sit around
listening to what people say in
about
. Sometimes they would say really funny things, like when this one member
of
we were eavesdropping on totally called his wife by his mistress’s
name and then she
on his
. That was priceless. The only drawback was the time I
.. Although that’s not something I would write home about—because it’s
top secret.
All in all, my favorite part of the summer was definitely

Even better, they offered me a job for next year, telling me I was at the top of
their candidate pool. I am sooooo excited to begin my true calling as a
at the NSA!
